Woke up this am to watch the sunrise, didn’t have to be at the gym for another hour or so, but when I looked up at the clock and saw 6am I thought to myself, get up, grab a cup of tea and watch the sunrise.

As I stared out the window, I thought to myself, life is crazy. It amazes me, or maybe the word is baffles, how quickly the day to day routine can take over and in the blink of an eye the overflow of information and experiences opaque the sweetest and most beautiful moments…so easily these get lost in a sea of ongoing seconds, where the past, the present, and the future all blend into one. As the first rays of sun crept between the buildings the fog began to rise, the lights that shone through the buildings’ windows slowly began to look less like sparkling stars and more like the start of the day. Soon I need to start getting ready, but I’m so happy that I took this moment to experience one of my favorite moments of the day while sitting on the couch, glad I had a moment to reflect.

Life is crazy… and how crazy life has been for us in the past couple of months. I can’t believe it’s been over a month since last time I sat down to write. At first, I was hesitant to do so because in an attempt to address more “random topics” on my blog, I felt overwhelmed by the infinite possibility of topics. Instead of tackling them one at a time, I found myself distracted by the spider web of ideas, thoughts, and emotions that each topic brought to me.

Then life took an unexpected turn, in the span of 5 days, I was presented with a job possibility, interviewed for it, got an offer, accepted on a Monday and started working on a Wednesday. All of the sudden I was employed, had to establish a new routine and in a matter of days, my brain started to clear up. Maybe it was the excess of free time to think that had brought of sort of mental fog that was clouding my ability to organize my thoughts or maybe my brain felt unbalanced by the increasing and nagging need for a challenge on the “non-creative” side. Whatever it was, it’s gone and I’m so excited to be back on here writing, sharing, and expressing myself.

For those who I haven’t updated yet here is a quick profile on my new job :)

Company: DAC Group

Industry: Digital Advertising Agency

What they do: basically revenue generating advertising in traditional and modern sources such as print and online yellow pages, websites, google searches, etc. It’s hard to explain in a simple sentence so if you really want to know check out their website http://www.dacgroup.com/

Where: North York Toronto. Although it’s about a 50min commute I get to take public transportation from door to door. During it I’ve been reading and it is now one of the things I look forward to everyday, especially since I got my Giver Quartet series in the mail (stay tuned for some posts on that). I now get to spend almost two hours reading while I’m getting something else done: getting to work! Sometimes it’s tiring, but in a way it’s kind of awesome.

Cool things about my office: Although I plan on talking a bit more about my new job on a later post, some of the cool things so far are the morning breakfast and afternoon snacks served at work, the window next to my cube with a view of the river, some trails, and office buildings in the background, learning a completely new industry/company, meeting some new and very nice people.

What I’m doing: for the next four months I will be helping out the Finance Manager with some of the monthly tasks left unattended. The work is quite detailed oriented and sorting through a lot of data, but I’m learning a lot on the accounting side that I hadn’t worked with before. I will also participate in the reforecasting of the budget for the remaining of 2015 and this will be a very interesting project as I will get to learn about budgeting in a completely different industry.

So that’s the new job’s profile. I’m excited that weekends are once again proper weekend days that feel different from the rest of the week. That being said…

…Happy Friday! Happy Weekend!
