The first thing we saw upon arriving on what is known as "old town" Bremen was the statues of the herder and his pigs. Rumor has it that back in the day when this area was a market, pig stalls were located along this street, hence it's name Söge Street. At the end of the day the pigs would run up and down the street eating left over fruits and vegetables, thus keeping the streets free of trash.
