Fortunately they had foreseen the danger and prior to the bombing the people went in and took down the organ, the art, and stored them along with the original architectural plans. After the war the church was reconstructed with those plans, except for the tower which had a planning error which had caused the bell to detach. The organ was then remounted, it has 4,000 tubes out of which 80% are still from 1693 or before. The paintings seen under the organ date back to the time when illiteracy was common. The church told the story of the Bible through images to help the illiterate learn the stories and follow mass.
